Denotation & Connotation

  Denotation & Connotation blog tasks: advert analysis Create a  new  blogpost in your GCSE Media blog called ' Denotation and connotation '. 1) Write an analysis of the  WaterAid advert above  using denotation, connotation and analysis. What can you see? What are the deeper meanings in the advert? What does the advert communicate to the audience? How might an audience react after seeing the advert? I can see a little child that dosent have enough water that is clean. They want people to help out and dig for water and not dig a grave. It also wants the peopke to be greatfull for what they have because others dont have that. some people might donate to help or tell evryone about it.

Watch the opening of television drama ‘Stranger Things’, a science fiction story set in the 1980s when four friends get wrapped up in a dangerous alternate universe. Create a new blogpost called 'Mise-en-scene: Stranger Things analysis'.    1) Write about the use of   COSTUME  in this opening scene. What costume can you see the characters wearing and what does this tell the audience? Normal clothing. colourful T-shirts and blue jeans. 2)  Write about the use of  LIGHTING  in this opening scene. What is the lighting like and what effect does it have on the audience? It is dark which makes the setting scary. 3) Write about the use of  SETTING  in this opening scene. What different settings are in this opening 8 minutes and what might these settings suggest to the audience about the show? Its gonna be a horror movie/series. there is many settings E.g= mike is house,outside on bikes,will is house,will is shed.   

camera work

  1) Camera shots Pick  three  camera  shots  from the scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience. medium close up,- to show there face expression and there shoulders Extreame close up shot- shows just face and the expressions also adds tension to the scene. Establishing shot-to show the setting. 2) Camera angle Pick  one  camera  angle  that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience. high up show to show the character is tiny and is powerless.  3) Camera movement Pick  one  aspect of  camera movement  in the clip. Identify the type of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience. zooms character face to show tension and to make the audience bewildered. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcZWZ... there are  medium close up shot in the video.

  This is my poster.The theme is ho as you can clearly see. this was a movie FRIDAY 13TH it was made in 2009 in USA. The superstition seems to relate to various things, like  the story of Jesus' last supper and crucifixion  in which there were 13 individuals present in the Upper Room on the 13th of Nisan Maundy Thursday, the night before his death on Good Friday.its called friday 13th beacuse its a scary day and its rae for it to be a friday on the 13th.Many people belive that friday 13 is a very scary day but some dont belive it.friday 13th is also concider as a unlucky day.
